Writing the narrative is the slowest part of a reserve study report. ReservePath drafts it from the study's own data: the executive summary, introduction, methodology, property description, funding analysis and component notes. You review and edit every section before the PDF is produced.
By the time a study reaches the report stage, the facts are already in ReservePath: the components, their conditions and lives, the costs, the funding projection and the scenarios. The report writer uses those facts to draft the sections a preparer would otherwise type from scratch.
A draft is a starting point. Each section opens in an editor where you can rewrite it, shorten it or replace it. Firms that have standard language can keep it as text snippets and drop it into any study.
If a section already has content, ReservePath asks before replacing it with a new draft, so an edited section is never overwritten by accident.
The narrative is generated once and saved with the study. Previewing or downloading the PDF again uses the saved text. It only changes when you edit it or choose to regenerate it. A report you reviewed yesterday reads the same today.
The AI describes numbers. It does not produce them. The funding projection, percent funded, fully funded balance and every table and chart are calculated by ReservePath from the study data. Figures are rounded for readability before they reach the narrative, so the text does not quote dollar amounts to the cent.
The PDF brings the narrative together with the component inventory, funding plan, expenditure schedule, charts, site photos and signature page, under your firm's branding. A shorter board summary is available for meetings. When a study is approved or completed, the report is archived automatically so there is a fixed record of what was issued.
Alongside the report writer, an AI chat assistant answers questions about a study or an association using its own data, such as which components are due in the next five years.
AI writing has a monthly allowance on each plan, shown on the pricing page. A usage bar shows how much is left wherever AI is offered. Generating PDF reports is separate and unlimited on every paid plan.
Reserve specialists and firms use it to cut report writing time. Boards and managers use the board summary to get a plain-language reading of where the reserves stand.
The narrative sections of the report: executive summary, introduction and scope, methodology, property description, funding analysis and recommendations, and short notes for individual components. The tables, charts and figures come from the study data, not from the AI.
Yes. Every section opens in an editor. Change it, replace it with your own wording, or save standard paragraphs as text snippets and reuse them across studies.
No. Your reserve study information is not used to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for details.
The AI is given the study's figures and asked to describe them. It does not calculate the funding plan. You should still read every section before you issue the report, as you would with any draft.
Each plan includes a monthly AI writing allowance, and paid plans can add AI credits when they need more. PDF reports themselves are unlimited on every paid plan. See pricing for the current allowances.
No. Every AI section is optional. A report can be produced with your own text or the standard wording.
